Management Information System (MIS) Project Manager, TJ International Ltd - £18,000 to £20,000 per annum

TJ International wish to recruit a graduate to analyse, design, implement and monitor an effective link for data exchange between two MIS systems on different OS platforms.
Situated in Padstow on the North Cornish coast, TJ International Ltd is an award-winning, leading manufacturer of books with over 35 years of experience at the cutting edge of production, printing and binding in Europe. They provide a full, in-house, book production service of soft and hardcover books. Clients include publishers such as T&F Informa, Wiley and Folio Society. TJ International is accredited with the Investors in People standard.
Objectives
Produce a list of common components
Conduct a gap analysis and produce a report on findings to include a cost benefit analysis
Research and define methods for linking the two systems together
Implement the chosen solution
Define and implement Quality Assurance (QA) procedures to ensure that the data exchange has validity
Nature of Work
The successful graduate will work on a project which will greatly influence the level of benefit that can be yielded from enabling the collection, collation, analysis and reporting of data across two dissimilar IT applications: the new MIS system and the Print On Demand (POD) system. This will enable management team to make more informed strategic decisions. The role will involve working with a wide variety of people to understand the processes used to run the business and then to ensure that the two systems will interact to produce the best possible reports. You will be fully supported by UCP and the company, particularly the MIS manager who will provide on the job training for report writing skills.
Personal Skills
Essential Requirements:
Degree/HND level qualification in IT or equivalent
Cross platform experience/exposure (Windows network based and Linux network based); clear analysis
Able to effectively analyse and present findings to management
Excellent numeracy skills
Excellent communication and listening skills
Ability to understand, interpret and deliver against business needs at all levels
Excellent organisational skills
A confident, self starter with the ability to work in a team environment
Excellent IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
Graduates must not have previously been supported in a UCP Graduate Placement programme*
Desirable Requirements:
Full, clean driving license
SQL Database experience
Experience of manufacturing systems
Graduates should ideally (but not necessarily) have graduated within the last 5 years and be unemployed or not fulfilling their graduate potential*
