Tulip Foods

Case Study

Tulip Foods is one of Europe’s largest meat processors. They employ 2,200 staff at three sites in Cornwall (Bugle, Bodmin and Redruth). Employees of Tulip Bodmin have undertaken Environmental Auditing Training through Cornwall College Business. Tulip is committed to environmental management practices in order to reduce their impact on the environment and save resources and money.

“We at Tulip Bodmin have worked very hard in developing our EMS over the last two years to the point that we are in the final stages of ISO 14001 accreditation. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and are committed to continually improving our environmental performance,” said Richard Stevens.

Tulip’s dedication to lessening their impact on the environment was recognised at the Cornwall College Business Excellence in Business Training Awards 2010 where they received the Commitment to Environmental Management Award.

The trained individuals will form Tulip’s Environmental Auditing Team and will regularly audit their Environmental Management System, procedures and work instructions.
