This apprenticeship is for people who want to become a qualified Signmaker, and have completed a Level 2 Signmaking Apprenticeship.
An apprenticeship is a great way to gain a new qualification while staying in your current job and earning money. At the end of the course, you will have a nationally recognised qualification and no debts to pay!
Upon successful completion, you are a qualified signmaker and could work as a quality control technician, signmaker, fabricator/fitter, sign designer or a sign installation maintenance engineer. Alternatively, you could start your own signmaking business or be involved in teaching.
In the future, you may be interested in continuing your apprenticeship studies through Cornwall College Business and enrol the team leading, people manager, customer service or trowel apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job to become qualified in signmaking; and supports those working in a skilled signmaker or technicians position.
You must have good hand skills, high attention to detail and be able to follow technical drawings.
This is a follow on from the Level 2 Signmaking Apprenticeship.
To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C and be employed within a suitable job position. You must have completed the Level 2 Signmaking Apprenticeship or have the relevant experience.

This apprenticeship is work based, so you will receive training on the job for 1 year.
During this apprenticeship, you will build onto your Level 2 Diploma and learn the advanced techniques involved in signmaking.
You will use a range of skills e.g. graphic design and electrical engineering, and a variety of materials e.g. perspex, vinyl, metal and glass.
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the following qualification:
