This apprenticeship supports those working in a variety of trainee job roles e.g. Helpdesk Technician, Database administrators, Network Manager, Systems Analyst, IT Project Manager, Technical Support Manager and Messaging Technologist.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in ICT.
You must work in a technical environment and want a career in IT.
You must work in a technical environment and want a career in IT. This course supports those working in a variety of trainee job roles e.g. Support Technician, Website Administrator, Helpdesk Support or Field Operations.
To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C (ideally Maths, English and IT), and be employed in a suitable position.

You will attend lectures at the St Austell campus 1 day per week for 12 months.
During this apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to select units to suit your job and industry. You will develop technical skills in a wide range of areas, including the following industry qualifications:

You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the following qualifications:
With a Level 2 Diploma, you can start working towards the nationally recognised Level 3 ICT Diploma by enrolling in the advanced apprenticeship.
In the future, you may be interested in studying further and gaining additional qualifications e.g. MCSA/MCITP; or enrolling in a full time course through Cornwall College e.g. FdSc Information Technology or FdSc Computer Networking.
An MCSA/MCITP will give you overall skills in planning, deploying, supporting, maintaining and optimising IT infrastructures.
The IT Professional Apprenticeship could take you in a number of directions e.g. business analyst, system support engineer, IT architecture or network manager.

There are no apprenticeship course fees charged for anyone between the ages of 16 and 18. For those aged 19 and over, fees do apply.
