This two day Adobe Photoshop training course is for anyone wanting to gain an introduction to the basic features of Photoshop. It is an intensive tutor led course, delivered by an Adobe Certified tutor which incorporates a substantial amount of hands on training.

Entry requirements
There are no formal qualifications required for this course. No prior knowledge is necessary as the course is suitable for newcomers to the application, or for users with a small amount of experience.
Course overview
After an introduction to the Photoshop interface, preferences and settings, candidates will cover the following:
- vector vs. raster based images
- resolution;Â CMYK v RGB
- toolbox; palettes; hiding and docking palettes
- getting around, and viewing images using the navigator palette
- zooming in and out
- switching the foreground and background colours; using the swatches palette
- choosing CMYK safe colours, and viewing CMYK output in the RGB colour space
- using the colour sliders to choose colours
- using levels; hue and saturation; variations; brightness and contrast
- adjustment layers; creating, viewing, reordering, linking, and moving layers
- background layers and regular layers
- using the hand tool; using the basic selection tools: the marquees, and lasso tools
- selecting by colour, using the magic wand
- adding and subtracting from selections; filling selections with foreground and background colours
- stroking selection outlines; feathering selections
- hiding or deleting parts of the image
- setting brush options; modifying brush shapes
- layer styles and the styles palette
- and finally, printing

After the course you will be confident in the basics of Photoshop and able to carry out simple image processing.
You will have the skills to progress to the Intermediate course to expand your skill-set and discover some of the more advanced features of the application.
