Summary
This course is for non-specialists in occupational health and safety to develop skills to implement their responsibilities. The course covers legal requirements avoiding prosecution, litigation, absence costs and loss of reputation and a range of workplace hazards and methods of control.
The current cohort of delegates have achieved an average pass rate of 65% (national average 52%), 85% (national average 74%) and 100% (national average 91%) on the last three exams.

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has, or would like to have health and safety responsibilities within the workplace. For some the NEBOSH Certificate if the first step towards a career as a health and safety professional.
Entry requirements
You must have gained a Health and Safety Award Level 2 or equivalent to enrol on this course.
Course overview
This course covers the following modules:
- Management of Health and Safety (NGC1)
- Controlling workplace hazards (NGC2)
- Health and safety practical application (NGC3)
Modules NGC1 and NGC2 are followed by written exams and NGC3 includes a practical workplace assessment. The course is run over 12 days with 3 block release periods each consisting of 4 days.
“Occupational Health and Safety NEBOSH Certificate Level 3” is classroom based and involves tutor lead discussions, presentations, group work involving research and feedback, and individual learning.
There is a comprehensive course book which covers the whole syllabus, to aid group work and private study.
What's next?
Upon completion, you will be assessed on dates set nationally by NEBOSH and awarded unit certificates; a certificate parchment is issued on successful completion of all three units.
This course meets the requirements for technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH), and associate membership of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
In the future, you could go onto the next level of the Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications.
