Who is this course for?
People working in a healthcare setting e.g. G.P surgeries, Healthcare Centres and hospitals as Healthcare Assistants.
You will have some responsibility in the workplace and sometimes / always work without supervision.
Healthcare workers who wish to progress to a more senior position.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but the candidate should be working as a Health Care Assistant. Applicant’s suitability to embark on the qualification will be established through initial assessments.
You will need to attend an interview prior to acceptance on this course.
Course overview
The Diploma consists of separate units that have been allocated various credit values. To gain the diploma you will need to achieve a total of 65 credits.
You will complete twelve mandatory units that include:
- Communication
- Health and Safety
- Duty of Care
- Record keeping
- confidentiality
- Safeguarding
- Equality and inclusion
- Person centred care
- Infection control
You will then select from a selection of optional units that are suitable to your job role.
Knowledge sessions will be provided at college for you to attend.
Competence will be assessed in the workplace.
