| Advice and Guidance City and Guilds NVQ Diploma Level 4 | Other sites not listed | 1 | TBA | 40 weeks | £1450.00 | |||
This qualification is for those working with clients in organisations that provide an advice and guidance service, on a professional or voluntary basis.
A City & Guilds qualification is proof that you have the right skills to do your job well, which is why so many employers look for people who have one.
The Advice and Guidance Diploma Level 4 replaces the City & Guilds NVQ in Advice and Guidance (3069).
There are no formal entry requirements, however you will need to be working within a role that enables you to demonstrate your competence in providing advice and guidance.
You will be invited to complete a pre-enrolment assessment which will ascertain which level is right for you.
As a general guide to enrol in the Level 4, your role should involve providing specialist advice and guidance to clients, reporting to senior management and networking with associated services, and managing, negotiating, training, evaluating and developing the service provision.
According to City and Guilds, anyone aged over 16 (Level 3) or 18 (Level 4) providing advice and guidance in a professional or voluntary role can enrol on the Advice and Guidance Certificate. You could be working in careers guidance, for a trade union, in a school, college, training provider, in housing, human resources or in health and social care or any other professional that provides advice and guidance as part of the service.
This course starts with an induction day covering key models, theories and skills associated with giving professional advice and guidance.
Following the induction you will regularly meet with your assessor/tutor in your workplace to complete the units required.  A variety of methods will be used to cover the criteria and these will be tailored to suit individual learners e.g. observation of performance, written evidence, witness statements, professional discussion and reflective logs.
Upon successful completion, you may be interested in Coaching and Mentoring, Counselling, Transactional Analysis or NLP.
These qualifications could help you progress to a wide range of roles:
