This course is perfect for anyone considering a career in a wide range of sectors, including retail, the professions and the public services. You will develop an understanding of how a business operates and deals with the challenges and opportunities it faces.
To enrol on this course you need a minimum of 120 points on the UCAS tariff or similar grades from a GNVQ/National Certificate/Diploma/Access course. Every application is assessed independantly so students with no formal qualifications can be assessed on work experience.

You will also have the opportunity to research a real life business problem in a local enterprise, reporting back your recommendations. You will be involved in a realistic business development opportunity, through a virtual or a real business venture. The skills you develop in enterprise and employability will prepare you for employment in a number of different settings. You will be assessed through a combination of reports, presentations, articles, tests and simulations.
The skills of leadership, communication, group work and self advocacy are developed throughout the programme but particularly in the Personal & Employability Skills Development module. Work-based learning is explored within all modules and the opportunity to engage directly with companies as a consultant is embedded within the strategy development module.
Learning is through lectures, seminars, tutorials and guest lectures.
There are opportunities for further training in a wide range of sectors, including management training, accountancy, marketing, administration and education.
