Plymouth-based BD and Cornwall College Business are looking for motivated and talented young people to join the company as engineering apprentices.

BD employs over 650 people in their Plymouth plant, which is one of the premier evacuated tube and needle production facilities in the world. Every day millions of tubes are used in more than 20,000 hospitals around the world. Manufacturing is located on a 27 acre site on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Engineering Apprenticeship
BD has recruited apprentices for the last 11 years. The apprenticeship lasts for 3 years where you will be employed by BD, but receive quality training from Cornwall College at the same time. With BD, apprentices can expect an excellent benefits package and fantastic future job prospects – many apprentices have developed their careers with BD and moved on to become qualified engineers and a few have progressed to become managers. BD was awarded the national status as ‘Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer’ to work for in 2011 and has been selected as one of only 20 companies to act as ambassadors of apprenticeships nationwide.
