During this apprenticeship, you will develop the capability and confidence to become a great team leader. Becoming a great team leader will lead to increased job satisfaction, improved working relationships, higher levels of productivity and sustainable performance improvements.
You remain in your current job and earn money, while you work through each programme. Upon successful completion, as well as having the skills to be a leader, you will have earned a nationally recognised qualification and have no debts to pay!

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to develop themselves in their current job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Team Leading.
You must work in a position where you are responsible for leading a team of people and have day to day responsibilities for planning and monitoring the work of others.
This is a cross-sector qualification, and can be taken by managers across a wide variety of work areas in both the public and private sectors.
To enrol on this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (ideally English and Maths). You must work in a team leading position in any industry e.g. team leader, shift leader, charge hand and section leader.

During this apprenticeship, you will select from a range of units covering different aspects of management and leadership. There are three mandatory units and a minimum of two optional units to achieve this qualification.
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at new tasks and the tasks you do every day. This course is delivered through professional discussions with an experienced assessor.
There will be two workshops that specifically look at areas of need such as leadership, customer service, working relationships with colleagues and managing conflict.
Candidates will be expected to complete the qualification in 12 months. In addition there will be at least one observation conducted in the work place.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the following qualifications:
The apprenticeship includes membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
The programme gives you the skills and confidence to be an efficient and effective Team Leader.
If you meet the requirements, you will be invited for an interview and be given advice and guidance on how to proceed.
There are no apprenticeship course fees charged for anyone between the ages of 16 and 18. For those aged 19 and over, fees do apply.
