This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Hairdressing. You must enjoy working within a salon environment and enjoy working on a one to one basis with clients.
To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C andÂ be employed within a salon environment. YouÂ mustÂ have a suitable level of fitness to perform some aspects of the job, as you will be on your feet most of the day.

You will attend lectures at the Camborne, St Austell and Saltash campus 1 day per week for 2 years,Â while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace.
During this apprenticeship you will work as a salon junior booking appointments and performing shampooing, conditioning, drying, styling and colouring of hair. You will also be involved in hair and skin testing and the principles of hair colour selection for clients.
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
Upon successful completion, you willÂ awarded the following qualification:
