Customer Service Apprenticeship Level 2

Summary

“This Apprenticeship teaches you the skills to provide excellent customer service, and can be applied to hundreds of job roles across many different sectors, from government to telecommunications. However, most customer service apprentices work in retail, financial services, call centres, hospitality or sport and recreation.” - National Apprenticeship Service

An apprenticeship is a great way to gain a qualification and earn real money. At the end of the course, you will have a nationally recognised qualification and no debts to pay!

With a Level 2 Customer Service Certificate, you are qualified to a junior level and may find yourself progressing to a more senior position with more responsibility. Thereafter you can start working towards the Level 3 Customer Service Certificate, by enrolling the Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Completing both the Level 2 and Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeships will help you progress in your career through a supervisory level to management. The skills learned are transferable, and can be used in a number of job roles and industries.

In the future, you may be interested in continuing your apprenticeship studies through Cornwall College Business and enrol in the business administration, team leading, people management, leader management or accounting apprenticeships. Thereafter, you may wish to study further and complete an FdA Business or FdA E-business Management, followed by a BA (Hons) Business Enterprise through Cornwall College.

Who is this course for?

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in customer service.

If you are friendly, enjoy working with people and being the face of the company, this is a great apprenticeship for you to start your career. It supports any job that is customer focused either over the phone, face to face or via email e.g. front of house, reception, sales assistant, customer relationship manager, customer support officer and customer service executive officer.

Entry requirements

To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C (ideally in English and Maths) and be employed in a suitable customer service position.

Course overview

You will attend lectures at the Camborne, St Austell or Saltash campus 1 day per week for 1 year, while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace.

During this apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to select units to suit your job role and industry. You will learn how to deal with customers in writing and electronically, process complaints, build effective communication tools, improve the customer experience and develop customer relationships. This course can be tailored to your needs!

You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Customer Service
  • Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service

What's next?

With a Level 2 Customer Service Certificate, you are qualified to a junior a level and may find yourself progressing to a more senior position in your company with more responsibility. Thereafter you can start working towards the advanced Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeship.

Completing both levels of the Customer Service Apprenticeship, will help you progress in your career to management level. The skills learned are transferable, and can be used in a number of job roles and industries.

In the future, you may be interested in continuing your apprenticeship studies through Cornwall College Business and enrol in the Business Administration, Team Leading, People Management, Leader Management or Accounting apprenticeships. Thereafter, you could progress to an FdA Business, BA (Hons) Business Enterprise or FdA E-business Management through Cornwall College.

There are no apprenticeship course fees charged for anyone between the ages of 16 and 18.  For those aged 19 and over, fees do apply.
