Vacancy Title Warehouse & Storage Apprentice
The Warehouse & Storage Apprentice will undertake general warehouse duties including; safe and identifiable storage of goods, safe movement of goods and helping with the construction of stock, with a view to becoming an important team member in a growing business.
Duties will include:
Managing stock levels, safely storing stock and ensuring the space is safe and clean, the packaging of very fragile products, dispatching goods, creating packing notes, liaising with couriers and customers to make sure orders are sent out safely and arrive on time.
This will also involve help with the packaging and logistic side to allow designing a wider selection of products and to learn the art of steam bending construction to assist in making various products.
Tom Raffield Design was set up in 2008. Originally established in Redruth Tom has recently moved to Helston and is in the process of building a new warehouse/studio that is custom and purpose built.
Tom designs and constructs steam bent furniture and lighting, the majority of which can be purchased or commissioned through his online shop and is sold internationally.
Tom’s design and manufacture business is based around the process of steam bending wood. This age old process, once a vital practice, has sadly today become less common. Tom has reinvented this traditional process, to develop methods of twisting and bending wood.
The outcome of this process development is a unique range of products.

Be forward thinking and practically minded, know how to use basic hand tools and have some knowledge of working with wood and computers.
Min GCSE's or equivalent Grade C in Maths & English.
Enthusiastic, hardworking who is looking for a career in logistics, highly skilled manufacturing and warehousing and storage. The ideal candidate must be outgoing, have a good manner and be able to lift heavy loads.

This is a small family run business so you will be required to help out in all areas of the business.
Your reliability is of great importance to this business, so to be trust worthy and punctual is hugely important.
Following the necessary training and experience, there is potential to become a permanent member of the team, developing a wide range of skills in a growing business.
There will be some heavy lifting involved.
