Stephen Howard

Stephen is an experienced creative media practitioner and teaches on the Design Principles Degree Level Short Course. He specialises in interactive media, 3D modeling and animation, originally training as a technical illustrator with Airbus in Hamburg before becoming a freelance multimedia specialist.

Whilst working for a high profile e-learning company in Truro, Stephen developed his 3D skills, becoming expert in 3D Studio Max and many of the Adobe packages. He has worked with many high profile clients, including Pfizer, Barclays Bank, Tesco, Computeach and Basic Skills Agency and began work at Cornwall College in 2003.

Stephen has an MA in Digital Art and Technology from Plymouth University exploring how computer games and virtual reality are used for education. He contributed to the writing of FdA Animation and optional pathways for FdA Multimedia, as well as Skillset accreditation for the later. A HEA Fellowship also allowed him to jointly explore Widening Participation via animation, with Dr Suzanne Nunn. He is currently developing an HND level Games Design/Animation course at Cornwall College, as well as continuing his own practice.
